Now, this will be a bit more formal than it usually is. I can't believe I've had to come to this notion, but I have to.
Back in 2014, I played a character called Thanatos Ausdin, son of Lenovier Ausdin of Mammoth Pack and Red ReVerence. Thanatos was my pride and joy, and he created Risen Revolution alongside Abelina in hopes to create a safe haven for old Ravage members. I was lucky, because many old members joined Risen Revolution. We were big, bad, and everything I could have ever wanted. However, the drastic end to Risen Revolution was at the end of 2015, near 2016, but not because of anything you'd think. I didn't have time, and honestly, Risen Revolution was a chore to keep around.
RR was popular, mainly by name and history and nothing more. When I brought it up again, many new and old faces showed themselves. Until a few months later, it declined rapidly. There was little drama towards RR in general, but I have noticed a lot of hate spike up in recent months. A lot of people hate it because of our introduction to felines, or because they say we act fake, or that there isn't enough to do and no one really talks, this or that. I created so many things for Risen Revolution in hopes people would use them to their benefit, but everyone shied away from it. Why? I'm still unclear on that.
Unfortunately, I am shutting Risen Revolution down. Why? It has become a hassle for staff to keep up. I always say to myself that if it ever becomes like a job, it needs to be cut off. Risen Revolution has become a job, like our real life ones, and we cannot keep it rolling forever. However, I know some of you will be disappointed deeply by this decision. However, I cannot let the staff, new and old, feel totaled and torn and exhausted because the group is meant to be fun for everyone, not just members. I apologize mainly because new members never got the chance to see Risen for what it really was, and those who dislike it will never see the shining glory that it once held. I am disappointed and I'm trying to hold back tears, but I am also happy in a way.
I am happy because I've never quite seen a community like this one, if I am being quite honest. New and old members meshed together and created bonds. We made friendships, we watched movies, we roleplayed and formed a family bond. Risen Revolution was never about training, ranking up, doing tasks, etc. It was about creating a community that was close-knit and friendly. I strive to this day to make it happen. I'm sure you've made new friends and formed good relations in this group. That's all I could ever hope for.
Now, to everyone else:
Members (New and Old): I apologize to the new members if you just joined, or joined a few months in and now we are shutting down. However, I'm glad you had the chance to see us around and be apart of us for months, weeks, or even days. It was a privilege having you here. I hope that one day, I can return the favor and you can have something better than what I provided. Older members, thank you for joining me on this amazing journey. We were only open a few months, perhaps longer, but you guys made the experience and hard work worth it. Everything you did made Risen Revolution better, and I appreciate everything you did. I appreciate your participation, and dedication, and I love you all dearly. You all have been so great, despite the hardships. I wish I could have done more.
Staff: I'm deeply sorry for the pain this caused you. I'm sorry for essentially dumping everything on you from old staff. It was hard, I know. However, I've never seen such hard working and loyal people in my life. You guys did the best that you could, and even if it wasn't enough. You guys worked harder than anyone else I know, and for that, I thank you. I can't thank you enough for being such awesome people and everything else in between. I wish I could have done better for you, but I know how much of a chore it became for you guys. I know how much it was difficult, especially with little to no help. You guys did it all, and I'm proud of you. I'm so deathly proud of you.
The Covenant: I can't tell you how happy I am with how patient you guys were with us. You were our sister group, and you were our best friends. I will never find a better alliance, ever. You guys made sure we interacted and we always did. You guys are close to us, like family, and I consider you all family. Thank you for having our backs, and no matter what, Risen Revolution will always have yours. You all made Risen Revolution an open and welcoming community as well. I hope you strive to be the best. You all deserve everything you could ever want.
I apologize again, to everyone. I wish I could have done better, or done something different to make everyone happy. Even if you didn't like Risen Revolution, I was happy if you were in it. I consider everyone in my groups as family to me. You guys mean the world to me and I wish I could have done better as not only a leader, but as a friend.
For the members and staff, if you guys want, you will be transferring over to The Covenant. Member's ranks will transfer over when joining. Just let them know what rank you were in Risen Revolution and they will give it to you accordingly. I'm not quite sure what staff would get, but I think you can negotiate something with them. I recommend you do join The Covenant, as it is a splendid group filled with similar aspects. If you are already in it, of course you are fine. If you aren't, I encourage you to join. Here is their discord: discord.gg/9D2qPQ8
As for RR shutting down, I have made a discord server if you wish to still stay and chat with RR members. There is no ranks or groups involved, just a server for you to chat and talk to your heart's content. If you are looking to keep in touch, please join the discord server: discord.gg/FdyEskK
There is also a lineage involved if you'd still enjoy having a piece of RR with you, persay. If you add the last name 'Ausdin' to your character, it will be like keeping a part of Risen with you. Of course, your character will have the last name it wants, but adding the name Ausdin onto it will let me know, and other members know, that you were apart of Risen Revolution. If you plan to add the last name, please also join the discord above so I can keep track and stay in touch!
Thank you all for...everything really. You truly made Risen Revolution a home. A family. I loved everyone here. I still do. Now, as a final few words and advice from me.
If you ever branch out and create a community like I did, remember a few things:
1. Don't let anyone walk all over you. You are the creator of the community, make sure to put your foot down if something steps out of line.
2. If the group becomes a chore, cut it off entirely. It's a game, and it shouldn't be hard to run the group. It should be fun, not a job you do in real life. Make sure you know that.
3. Don't be feared, be liked. Gather a community of friends and start out small. Every group you make, you gather followers of your cause and you strive for better each time around.
4. Get the game community involved. Don't settle for less than what you bargained for, and include everyone as best you can.
5. No matter who you are, what your past was, or how old you are, you can be a leader. You make mistakes, but you have to learn how to fix them. Take criticism from others, and understand your mistakes and work to fix them rather than blow them off. Everything is about experience.
Thank you all so much for everything you've done. As a final note, Risen Revolution ranks, traditions, rules, and everything else is being left open for the public to use. You may take things for your own groups, but don't forget to credit Risen Revolution for the ideas. Everything is free to use, so remember to use it wisely.
I love you guys.
